Happy New Year everywhere!

Happy New School Year to you and yours! I’ve been noticing something this week. Everywhere I go I see evidence that public and private school is back in session….quieter stores, closed swimming pools and bus traffic.

My most favorite effect to notice however, is the presence of school age kids NOT at school. Quick deductive thinking leads me to believe they are homeschool kids! πŸ™‚

Quick observations:
– younger and older children playing together
– siblings getting along
– older siblings actually talking to each other
– parents explaining nature to children
– children interested in listening and learning
– children reading by choice
– parents patiently observing children at leisurely play

Yes, I am heavily biased to the many wonderful blessings of homeschooling! Discipling your children is a unique honor and privilege! Take your time! Deeeeeep breath! Savor every moment! (Well, MOST of the moments!) πŸ™‚ And know just how great of a job you are doing in your child’s development! The fruit of your labor will influence your child’s life for a very long time – maybe even for eternity!

“He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which He commanded our ancestors to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget His deeds but would keep His commands.” Psalm 78:5-7

  1. Hello my friend! I have such fond memories of these days and regret nothing! With one in college and the other in an in person arts school, most of my work is done. But I see the effect of years spent learning together what we wanted, what inspired us, at our pace and with deep respect for learning styles and (surprise!?) some neurodivergence! People like you cheering us on and modeling a beautiful example are a gift. Praying your life is full of joys and passions these days. With great fondness I hold you up to the Lord today.
